Newcastle::Gateshead. Day 5.
Friday 5 September.
What can I say… its the last leg to finish on childhood home turf. My parents were both born and bred in Newcastle Upon Tyne. My childhood family home, of over 40 years, in Gateshead is still where mum lives today. A life time of family memories! Feels like the right location to complete my challenge.

The route…
This is work in progress and I will continue to adjust and refine the details as things are confirmed.
I’m currently working on adapting the Try on the Tyne Duathlon into a full triathlon Olympic length route.
This will see me swim 1.5km in the Gateshead Leisure Center pool, then cycle 40km from Gateshead to South Shields and back. Finally a 10km run around the Quayside and bridges over The River Tyne.
